A new, young, and ambitious pair has just formed on the circuit:  Curro Cabeza  et  Mariano Gonzalez  have decided to join forces for this second part of the season.

Two profiles still under construction, but already closely followed, given their  potential  and their  room for improvement  are immediately obvious. One comes from  Marbella , the other of Encarnación in Paraguay , with a common idea:  accelerate up the hierarchy .

A first test that is already convincing

And their joint debut has already shown some interesting signs. Even before starting their training sessions, the two players have already shared the track in official competition, during the  FIP Gold of Almaty  au  Kazakhstan .

Committed with the status of  seeded 5 they succeeded in  A very good run all the way to the semi-finals. only bowing to the eventual winners of the tournament:  Martín Di Nenno  et  Momo González .

A rather positive first impression for a pair that is still brand new.

 Next stop, Mumbai!

Both players are now committed to  FIP Silver of Mumbai , where they will begin with the status of  seeded 3 .

Two different starts to the season

Before meeting, the two players had begun  2026  with other partners.

Curro Cabeza  had started the season alongside  Teo Zapata , in a project that ultimately didn't last long. After a first tournament at  Riyadh he had to withdraw from  Cancún  because of a  abdominal injury , quickly ending the association. He then competed  Miami  with  Agustin Torre .

For its part,  Mariano Gonzalez  had started the year with  Facundo Lopez , with whom he had shown good things up until  Miami , before changing course.

A clear bet: youth, rhythm and projection

With this new association, the message is quite simple: go get points and climb to the top.  FIP ranking .

On paper, the pair clearly has what it takes to make some noise in the  qualifications  and, if the momentum takes hold, gradually move closer to  final tables Premier Padel .

A duo to watch closely in the coming weeks.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
