La seeded 3, Martina Calvo et Alejandra Salazar, achieved a truly flawless performance in the FIP Platinum Lyon, winning the final 6/3 7/6(1) facing the 1th seed, Tamara Icardo et Marina Guinart.
A controlled victory from start to finish
Facing the favorite pair, Calvo and Salazar dominated the match overall, relying on a great Martina Calvo, only 17 years, who once again impressed with his power and maturity. At his side, Alejandra Salazar, true to his reputation, perfectly orchestrated the game from the right, imposing his pace and experience in key moments.
The first set quickly turned to the advantage of the third seed (6/3), before the second became more close. Icardo and Guinart, long carried out, found the resources to return from two breaks behind and push until tie-breaker. But in that decisive moment, Calvo and Salazar reaccelerated, inflicting a 7 / 1 sec to conclude as bosses.

A perfect tournament: three seeded players eliminated
Their journey in Lyon is simply impeccable:
- Quarter-final victory against the seeded 5, Caldera / Goenaga
- Success in the semi-final against the seeded 2, Alonso / Sainz
- And finally triumph in the final against the seeded 1, Icardo / Guinart
Zero sets lost, a consistent level of play, and an impression of total mastery: the Hispanic pair eliminated all the big pairs to secure the title.
300 FIP points and a promotion in the rankings
With this victory, Calvo and Salazar leave with 300 FIP points, a particularly important gain for Martina Calvo, which confirms its 14th place in the RaceAt only 17 years old, she is ahead of her pursuers and almost secures a historic qualification for the Master Final, a first in his young career.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
