Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea continue their very good start to the season on the circuit Premier Padel. After one semi-final in Riyadh and title in Gijón, they ensure at least a new semi-final at Cancun P2, after their large victory 6 / 2 6 / 1 face Alejandra Alonso and Andrea Ustero.
An alchemy that takes hold quickly
The pair Triay / Brea, formed at the start of the season after the separation with Bea González and Claudia Fernández, did not take long to find their bearings. Their consistency and tactical intelligence allow them to chain together the big results, leaving far behind the doubts born from changes of partners.
Facing Alonso and Ustero, the recent FIP Platinum Puebla champions, they imposed their superiority in barely an hour and seven minutes of play. Despite the stifling heat of Cancun, they played their game and ended the Mexican dream of the “Turkis”, who had eliminated Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez the day before in a marathon match lasting almost 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Unfailing concentration
Delfi Brea did not let any relaxation set in during this meeting, always remaining focused on each exchange. Even with a large lead in the second set, she was keen to remind her teammate not to underestimate the creativity of Ustero and Alonso, capable of pulling off unexpected blows at any time.
With only seven unforced errors throughout the match, Triay and Brea show impressive solidity.

A real test in the semi-final
On Saturday, they will face Aranza Osoro and Jessica Castelló, who signed a nice comeback in the quarter-finals against Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno (4/6 6/1 6/2). First semi-final of the season for the Spanish-Argentine pair, who will try to shake things up the favorites.
The rise in power continues, and a new final in Cancun would definitely place them as the biggest threat to the Josemaría / Sánchez pair This year.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
