The Frenchwoman, initially engaged in FIP Silver of Bandol next to Jessica Ginier, finally had to make a choice of heart… and reason. She decided to give up play at home to join a padel legend: Carolina Navarro, Ancient world number 1 during nine consecutive years.
A difficult choice for the Frenchwoman
Carla Touly was due to play this week in Bandol accompanied by her friend Jessica Ginier. But a rare and unexpected opportunity presented itself: to replace Carmen Castillon, hospitalized following a health problem, alongside Carolina Navarro in the qualifications for the Italian Major in Rome.
On her social media, Carla shared her emotion and the difficulty of the choice:
“Accepting meant giving up playing Bandol with Jessica. Saying no to playing at home, surrounded by my family, at my club, with a friend, was very difficult. […] But playing a Major, in Rome, with a former world No. 1, as the No. 1 seed in qualifying, is an opportunity I couldn't pass up.”

Play with Carolina Navarro, is to associate with one of the greatest icons in the history of padel. 48 years, the Swedish-born player continues to make her mark on her sport. She has won 100 international titles, seven world champion titles, and has crossed all eras of professional padel, from historical circuits to Premier Padel, where she argues its last season in 2025.

A first test together in Rome
