It's already over between Manu Castaño and Xisco Gil

Another split on the professional circuit. After only a few months of partnership, Manu Castaño et Xisco Gil have decided to end their joint project.

The pair will compete in one last competition together at Valladolid , before taking different paths.

A two-month adventure

The partnership between the two Spaniards began last April during the FIP Silver Nola On paper, this duo had everything it needed to establish itself in the long term.

On the one hand, Xisco Gil , an experienced player on the circuit. On the other hand, Manu Castaño , one of the most promising young Spanish talents, capable of producing very high-level sequences.

But after only six tournaments played together, the adventure already comes to an end.

Decent results, but not decisive.

The pair's best result remains a final reached at FIP Silver Höganäs .

On the circuit Premier PadelCastaño and Gil had also shown some great things during the Italy Major of Rome , despite being eliminated in the round of 32 against mike yanguas et Franco Stupaczuk .

Beaten in three sets (5/7 7/6 3/6), they had delivered a convincing performance against one of the best pairs in the world, showing interesting potential for the future.

Despite this, the results were clearly not enough to convince the two players to continue their collaboration.

What future awaits Castaño?

This separation is all the more surprising given that many saw this partnership as an opportunity for Manu Castaño to reach a new level, both in the rankings and in his development on the professional circuit.

However, the young Spaniard seems to have chosen a different direction for the rest of his season.

For the moment, no new association has yet been officially announced. Registrations for the Bordeaux P2 are open, but neither Castaño nor Xisco Gil had yet appeared with a new partner at the time of the announcement of their separation.

It remains to be seen with whom the two players will bounce back in the coming weeks, in a circuit where partner changes continue to happen at a rapid pace.
