Bordeaux is preparing to experience an unprecedented event: the three flagship clubs in the city will compete not on rugby, football or hockey fields... but racket in hand, on a padel court !

UBB, Boxers, Girondins: change of ground

No more balls, sticks or cleats: make way for Champions League Padel, a friendly competition that will bring together the stars of theUnion Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB), Bordeaux Boxers and Girondins of Bordeaux around their shared passion for padel.

The event will take place at PADEL33 from Bruges, with three scheduled dates between April and June, and an original format:

  • 3 teams
  • 3 meetings
  • 3 matches per encounter

Sports stars on the field

The three teams will be composed of emblematic figures of Bordeaux sport, with 6 starters and 2 substitutes by training.
On the side ofUBB, several well-known players and staff members will be taking to the padel courts:
Yannick Bru (manager), Thibault Giroud et Ludovic Loustau (physical trainers), but also internationals like Nans Ducuing, Damian Penaud, Louis Bielle-Biarrey et Maxime Lucu.

At the Boxers, the manager Stéphane Tartari will take part in the event alongside players such as Maxime Lamarche et Kevin Dusseau.

Finally, the team of Girondins will be composed of renowned former players:
Rio Mavuba, Jimmy Briand, Benoît Trémoulinas, Grégory Coupet, Jerome Dauba et Sylvain Blaquart.

Atmosphere and friendliness at the rendezvous

In addition to the show on the slopes, each evening will conclude with a aperitif dinner to allow the players, staff, organizers and members to share a friendly moment. A unique moment of exchange with the big names in Bordeaux sport.
