Opposed to the number 4 seed in the qualifiers, Marta Arellano and Jana Montes, French women Charlotte Soubrié and Louise Bahurel lost this Sunday in two sets: 6 / 3 6 / 1.
Yet, everything had started well. first set has been marked with a sequence of breaks and unbreaks, each pair struggling to maintain their commitment. But at 4/3, the Spanish raised their voice to break and move towards winning the set.
In the second round, the French women no longer had the opportunity to make their opponents doubt. Jana Montes, in difficulty in the first act, clearly recovered, dictating the pace alongside a very solid Arellano.
Facing a higher ranked pair, Soubrié and Bahurel tried to exist, but their 17 unforced errors and limited effectiveness on key points weighed heavily in the balance.
A frustrating match, but rich in lessons for the two French players, who continue to accumulate experience on the international scene.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
