The Reserve Cup makes a strong start right from the kick-off. To kick off the 2026 season, the organization is offering a lineup in Miami that the world of padel has never seen before: Arturo Coello associated with Federico Chingotto against Alejandro Galán and Agustín Tapia.
These are good the four best players in the world, but with a completely new format. Normally, the circuit pits the world number 1 players against each other, Tapia / Coello, at numbers 2, Chingotto / GalanIn Miami, the established order is shattered: stars are mixed together, teams are reshuffled. This redistribution of power completely changes the way the game is played and intensifies the anticipation tenfold.
Le Reserve Cup thus opens a new chapter with the Reserve Cup Series 2026, an international format which will therefore begin in Florida from January 22 to 24, before continuing in Marbella in June.
For this first major event, Coello and Chingotto will represent Team Reserve. Jimmy Butler, NBA player Golden State Warriorswhile Galán and Tapia will wear the colors of Team Miami led by Derek Jeter, legend of New York Yankees.
Tapia / Galán: who will play on the right?
This is the other major intriguing aspect of this match. Two of the most spectacular and beloved players on the circuit, two world-renowned figures… usually positioned on the left. For years, the association Tapia / Galán fuels all sorts of fantasies, but one question kept coming up: Which one would agree to switch sides?
The answer will come January 23, 2026 in Miami, during this match already announced as the flagship event of the Reserve Cupfacing a pair Chingotto / Coello equally experimental. With one certainty and one strong particularity: Fede Chingotto will return to the left side of the track, its natural “old-fashioned” side, in a configuration that promises as much tactically as symbolically.
In Miami, the Reserve Cup will offer more than just an exhibition match. It will offer a rare, almost surreal moment: The usual hierarchies are disrupted, the automatic responses are rewritten, and four padel geniuses find themselves at the heart of an unprecedented confrontation.Could we dream of anything better?!
