In the current landscape of  professional padel A trend is confirmed tournament after tournament:  Tapia / Coello  et  Galan / Chingotto  have gained a lead that will be difficult to close.

The numbers speak for themselves. Since their first confrontation at  Puerto Cabello in March 2024 The two pairs have already competed  30 endings  Head-to-head. An impressive consistency that reflects a clear domination on the circuit.

A duel at the top... but a lack of diversity?

This rivalry has become the benchmark of the circuit, but it also raises a question: that of  renewal .

Federico Chingotto himself acknowledges that the situation may seem repetitive:

“It’s true that it’s very repetitive; I think sport needs variety.”

The Argentinian player goes even further in his analysis:

“When this circuit was created, the goal was to bring forth new stars, and I think padel needs that too.”

A clear-eyed observation on a circuit where, for the moment, few pairs manage to establish themselves in the fight for titles for any length of time.

A rivalry that remains a driving force for the circuit

Despite this, it's hard to deny the positive impact of these encounters. Every match between the two teams has become a highly anticipated event.

Chingotto, moreover, makes no secret of his pleasure:

“For my part, I hope it continues like this, I am very happy with these finals and I hope we can win more.”

Beyond the results, a whole dynamic has also developed around this opposition:

“A great rivalry has developed, and people like it. There are those who support 'Chingalán' and those who support Tapia/Coello.”

The circuit today lives to the rhythm of this confrontation, with two clearly identified camps.

 A constant level of expectation

But behind this dominance lies, above all, exceptional consistency. Staying at the top requires constant vigilance.

Chingotto makes it clear:

“There are no easy opponents; you have to play every match like a final.”

A speech that sums up well the key to their regularity: a constant intensity, regardless of the round.

The debate remains open. Does the circuit need new faces at the top? Perhaps. But in the meantime,  Tapia/Coello vs. Galán/Chingotto  establishes itself as the central rivalry of world padel, and continues to raise the level of competition.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
