Christophe Chaveroche, league director and Development Advisor of Val d'Oise, and Richard Demon, president of TC du Plessis-Bouchard, discuss their ambitions and aspirations to develop this sport.

How do you know the padel ?

Christophe Chaveroche (CC) - Richard Demon was the first to embark on the adventure 5 years ago and allowed us to discover the tremendous potential that this sport has. At the same time, the FFT has become more and more interested in this sport to the point of integrating it into its statutes and of being its representative today. From then on, the league logically embarked on the development of padel.

Richard Demon (RD) - I fell into the pot of padel in Spain 5 years ago. Back in my club in Plessis-Bouchard, I suggested to the club to build a padel and there was immediate support from Christophe.

Why do you believe it so much?

CC - This is a very complementary offer with tennis that allows to retain members in clubs, but also to bring new ones. Indeed, whatever his age, his level of play, the practice is fun. To date, 4 Val d'Oisiens clubs have been equipped with shorts and other projects should see the light of day in the coming months.

RD - People from outside the club register at Plessis Bouchard. We are at a stage where we aim to add a second.

How do you plan to help the clubs?

CC - The help of the league is mainly technical, We accompany the clubs to convince the municipalities to finance the infrastructures. The mayor, for an affordable budget, is often very sensitive to the effect that it can bring to the club and its municipality.

RD - The league is very motivated and supports us. That helps. With his support, we will work together for the development of the practice. We are also starting in September training for young people.
