Le FIP ranking takes a new turn for French padel: Bastien Blanqué (108th) is only left to 4 small units of Thomas Leygue (104th), still number 1 in France… but for how much longer?
The Toulouse resident is doing very well start of season next to Johan Bergeron (114th, +11 places)The French pair have been performing well, with three finals on the FIP circuitincluding two consecutive titles in Hong Kong and Manila, for a total of 80 points collectedA well thought-out strategy from Blanqué, who preferred focus its calendar on Bronze FIPs, less challenging but profitable in points, in the event of victory.
Two strategies, two visions
For its part, Thomas Leygue follows a different path. Less active at the start of the year, the Frenchman has focused, as usual, on tournaments Premier Padel. But by boycotting the tournaments like many others P2, its FIP counter is less active.
However, The French player got a breath of fresh air this week by qualifying for the Santiago P1 main draw, a great achievement which already assures him 32 extra points (not yet counted). In case of victory in the first round, he would double the stake with 55 points, which would allow him not only to consolidate its position as French number 1, But also get closer to the world top 100.
Caltanissetta in sight
No respite for the two men, who will be present next week at the FIP Silver in Caltanissetta, in Italy. With clear objectives: confirm for Blanqué, set sail again for Leygue.
Since Benjamin Tison ended his career, Thomas Leygue naturally inherited the status of French number 1. A status that he had never really seen challenged... until the start of this season.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
Hello,
For your information, Thomas already has 32 points secured in this tournament (10 points as a qualifier plus the 22 points from the first round).
Sincerely,
