Le  Buenos Aires Premier Padel P1  has left its mark on the world hierarchy. Even if the top spots in the FIP rankings remain unchanged, the dynamics are becoming increasingly worrying for the current leaders of the circuit.

Because after their new titles in Argentina,  Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto  et  Paula Josemaría / Bea González  continue to get dangerously close to the world's number 1.

Augsburger enters the world's top 8

For men, the FIP rankings changed little after Buenos Aires, but one important change should be noted:

  •  Leo Augsburg  climb to the  8th place in the world
  • to the detriment of  Paquito Navarro , now 9th

Also note that  Campagnolo and Bautista  gain two places in the rankings thanks to their good quarter-final at the Buenos Aires P1, they are ranked 22nd and 25th in the world respectively.

The updated top 10 for men:

  1.  Agustín Tapia  – 1,000 points
  2.  Arturo Coello  – 1,000 points
  3.  Alejandro Galán  – 1,000 points
  4.  Federico Chingotto  – 1,000 points
  5.  Juan Lebrón  – 1,000 points
  6.  Franco Stupaczuk  – 1,000 points
  7.  mike yanguas  – 1,000 points
  8.  Leo Augsburg  – 1,000 points
  9.  Paquito Navarro  – 1,000 points
  10.  Coki Nieto  – 1,000 points

Galán and Chingotto are putting enormous pressure

Even though Tapia and Coello officially remain world number 1, the current momentum is clearly with:

  •  Galan / Chingotto

The winners of Buenos Aires P1 have once again dominated the world leaders in the final:

  •  6 / 2 6 / 1

And above all, they continue to increase their lead in the:

  •  Race 2026

They now own:

  •  790 points ahead
    sure :
  •  Tapia / Coello

An extremely important piece of information before the Italy Major.

In the women's category, Bea and Paula are making a strong comeback.

The women's ranking also appears unchanged, but here again, the gaps are narrowing considerably.

Updated women's rankings:

  1.  Gemma Triay  – 1,000 points
  2.  Delfi Brea  – 1,000 points
  3.  Bea González  – 1,000 points
  4.  Paula Josemaría  – 1,000 points
  5.  Ariana Sánchez  – 1,000 points
  6.  Claudia Fernández  – 1,000 points
  7.  Andrea Ustero  – 1,000 points
  8.  Sofia Araújo  – 1,000 points
  9.  Tamara Icardo  – 1,000 points
  10.  Marta Ortega  – 1,000 points

Josemaría and González completely dominate the Race

As with the men, the world number 2s currently seem to be the strongest pair on the circuit.

After their victory in Buenos Aires against:

  •  Triay / Brea  ( 6 / 3 7 / 5 )

Paula Josemaría and Bea González continue:

  • un  fifth consecutive title
  • another  20th consecutive victory
  • and a fifth consecutive victory against the world number 1s

Result:

  • they now count  440 points ahead  on Triay and Brea in the Race 2026.

The FIP ranking no longer fully reflects the current dynamics

Today, one thing is immediately obvious:

  • The world number 1s remain leaders in the official rankings
  • but the number 2s clearly dominate the circuit's dynamics

For both men and women, Galán/Chingotto and Josemaría/González currently appear as:

  • the strongest teams
  • the most consistent
  • and especially the strongest mentally in big matches

With the Italy Major just weeks away, the fight for the world number 1 spot has probably never been so open this season.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
