The FIP has updated its ranking, highlighting varied developments among French players. While the results are rather positive among men, the trend is less encouraging among women.
Progression among men
In gentlemen, Thomas Leygue maintains his status as French number 1 and continues to progress in the world rankings. Thanks to his recent results, including two round of 16 on Premier Padel and a victory at FIP Star Beau Plan, he gained 4 places and went from 95th to 91st position.
Timeo Fonteny et Maxime Joris recorded significant progress thanks to their final at FIP Star Beau Plan, where they notably beat Aitor Garcia (102) and Miguel Solbes (73) in the semi-final. Timeo Fonteny jumped 65 places, from 292nd to 227th. Maxime Joris, meanwhile, has moved up 13 places and is now ranked 164th, compared to 177th previously.
For other French players, the positions remain generally stable. However, there is a slight decrease for Maxime Moreau, which loses 4 places and finds itself in 133rd position (against 129th previously).
Decline among women
On the women's side, the only positive development is to be attributed to Carla Toully, who gains 2 places and climbs to 90th position worldwide thanks to his final at FIP Star Beau Plan.
On the other hand, the observation is less favorable for other French women. Alix Collombon falls out of the top 30, losing 2 places to now rank 31st in the world. Léa Godallier drops one place to 59th in the world. Jessica Ginier, she maintains her ranking, but for the other French players, they have all fallen back in the ranking.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
