Starting the March 1, 2026 The French Tennis Federation applies another new points system for some of the sanctioned padel tournament categories, of P25 to P500 A reform that aims to harmonize the valuation of performance based on the level of the test , number of pairs entered and final ranking obtained .
Eight tournament categories are involved, each with its own maximum number of points awarded to the winner.
A logic common to all categories
Regardless of the tournament level, several principles apply:
- Le The number of points depends on both the category of the event and the final ranking of the pair or team. .
- Each category defines a maximum number of points awarded to the winners (per player).
- In the event of a tie not broken by ranking matches, the pairs are ranked jointly in the least favorable position and receive the same number of points .
- The differences in sets or games are only taken into account in single-group tournaments .
- As soon as a tournament includes two or more hens , no pair tied can be separated other than by the planned sporting format.
P25: the gateway to the federal ranking
Le P25 constitutes the first level of sanctioned tournament.
- 25 point are awarded to each player in the winning pair.
- Points decrease rapidly after the top spots.
- The valuation depends on the number of pairs involved, of 4 to 28 pairs .
These tournaments are primarily aimed at beginner or casual players wishing to enter the FFT rankings.

P50: a gradual rise in the hierarchy
New intermediate category, the P50 allows for a more gradual progression.
- 50 point for each winning player.
- A wider distribution of points across the entire table.
- A better return on investment when the tournament hosts 17 pairs or more .
The P50 is emerging as a key format to support the transition between recreational padel and regular competition.

P100: first structuring stage
With P100 , we are entering a level of competition that is already well identified.
- 100 point to the winner.
- A significant distribution down to the intermediate positions.
- The point differences widen depending on the number of pairs (up to 32 pairs or more ).
This format remains very accessible while offering real sporting value to the rankings.

P250: a pivotal level
Le P250 marks a turning point in the structuring of the ranking.
- 250 point awarded to the winners.
- A more pronounced hierarchy between the towers.
- The number of pairs involved has a strong influence on the depth of the point distribution.
P250s often form the basis of regional competitive circuits.

P500: the antechamber to the national elite level
Le P500 is one of the most contested formats in French padel.
- 500 point for each winning player.
- Significant valuation even for places far from the podium.
- The tournaments at 29 pairs or more benefit from an even more stringent scale.
This is a level where consistency becomes crucial for progressing in the rankings.

P1000: points reserved for major tournaments
Le P1000 falls into the category of tournaments with a high concentration of athletes.
- 1 000 points for the winners.
- Formats below 17 pairs are reserved for championships .
- A very wide distribution of points across the entire table.

P1500: National recognition
Le P1500 constitutes a level of excellence.
- 1 500 points to the winner.
- Three separate scoring systems depending on the number of pairs involved.
- A high valuation even at the bottom of the rankings.
These tournaments bring together a majority of the top national players.

P2000: the top of the FFT hierarchy
Le P2000 represents the highest level of federal tournament.
- 2 000 points for each winning player.
- A massive distribution of points, even for places further away.
- A major issue for access to and retention in the French elite.

Special cases: ties, group stages and repechages
The FFT specifies several specific situations:
- No ranking matches : the pairs are ranked jointly in the least favorable rank.
- Single-group tournament : a tiebreaker by sets or games won is possible.
- Multi-group tournament : no tiebreaker possible off-field.
- Example: in a tournament 4 hens of 4 pairs The third-placed teams in each group are ranked 12th (tied) the 4th 16th (tied) .
- If you have a draft , only the sporting rules stipulated in the specifications apply.
