The P2000 in Toulouse is canceled. Fortunately, the French have very positive results internationally. Laura Clergue and Léa Godallier, French pair of World Padel Tour showed beautiful things.

You noticed, the other French pair of the World Padel Tour being Jérémy Scatena and Benjamin Tison among the gentlemen.

Clergue / Godallier on its way

It's a very positive start to the year for the 100% French ladies' pair. Laura and Léa are partners on the professional circuit of padel and for now, the results are present.

In 2020, Godallier / Clergue succeeds in reaching for the 6th time the main draw of the World Padel Tour. A regularity that gives pleasure. Laura Clergue explains on her facebook page:

We hung on like never before, by putting all our heart, and our last strength to allow us to reach the 1 / 8th finals after 2:45 of the match, 7/6 in the deciding set.
The 1 / 8th final played against Pati and Eli, 6th pair in the world, was much shorter. Despite everything, it remains a great pleasure for us to play against these two players that we adore..

These good international results were illustrated by a victory in France during the P2000 des Pyramides, 2 weeks ago in the final against Alix Collombon and Jessica Ginier. They had shown a very good level of play in the final: a Laura Clergue on a little cloud during this match, and a Léa Godallier who managed to maintain a high level in her diagonal against the French number internationally.

Without forgetting the coach of the day, Jean-Thomas Peyrou, who was also very punchy when changing sides with his players. The champions of France bowed in France, a first for 3 years.

We will have to be patient ...

We will not have the right in Toulouse to this second match between the champions of France and the French pair of World Padel Tour, but we hope that the northern stage, supposed to take place from 9 11 in October à El Padel Wambrechies Club, will be maintained. For now, we will have to wait for the evolution of COVID-19 and the decisions taken by the government to find out more.

The last two steps P2000 of the Support and Revival Plan of the French Tennis Federation could take place in TV mode with the FFT TV channel. We cross our fingers so that we can have television with a realization close to the World Padel Tour, but in France!

It would be a great chance for the padel French of take advantage of these investments of the French Tennis Federation, the amounts of which could be around one million euros per year. We were unable to get details on the general investment between the TV platform and the broadcasts.

Next dates planned for the P2000:

  • October 9-11 at El Padel Wambrechies Club (Hauts-de-France League),
  • From 23 to 25 October to Padel Horizon of Sucy-en-Brie (Ile-de-France League),
  • From December 4 to 6 at the Big Padel in Mérignac (Ligue Nouvelle-Aquitaine).
