Winners of the Qatar Major 2025 , Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia sent a clear message to the world of padel:  the number 1s are still there If some doubted their form after two tournaments without reaching the final, this demonstration in Doha swept away all questions.

A regained domination

Despite their inaugural victory in Riyadh, failures in Miami and Santiago had sown doubt. But in Qatar, the two men  regained their confidence, their precision and their tactical superiority Their radiant faces throughout the week and their ease on the court reminded us why they have dominated world padel for two seasons.

“We never set out. Like any athlete, there are ups and downs. Other players have also had very good tournaments, which explains some of the defeats. But this week, we had it in mind and prepared 100%.”, Tapia said after their victory.

Revenge on themselves

 Victory against Galán and Chingotto in the final  , their first duel of the year, had a special flavor. The rivalry between the two best pairs in the world continues to intensify, and this first confrontation of 2025 turned to the advantage of Coello and Tapia.

“These are very tough matches. They started better, but we were able to find the keys. I hope we play against them often again… that will mean we find ourselves in the final regularly.”, commented Arturo.

The crucial role of loved ones

But beyond padel, it is also  the human behind the champion  who has returned to the forefront. Tapia took advantage of a break forced by injury to return to  Catamarca , his hometown, and recharge his batteries with his loved ones:

“Spending six days at home allowed me to mentally detox after the defeat in Chile. My family reminds me of who I really am. They don't demand anything from me, and that motivates me enormously.”

The same process happened for Coello, who after the elimination in Santiago, felt the urgent need to  return to Valladolid  :

“When you win, everything is wonderful. But when you lose, you feel alone. Coming back to those who truly love you is what I needed.”

Heading for Brussels

With this title,  Number 1s confirm their status  et  regain psychological advantage over their rivals . The next step is the  Brussels P2 , a final tournament before a three-week break that will precede the South American tour.
