His relationship with Maxi Grabiel

“Above all, Maxi brings me happiness every day. He makes everything much easier; he's always smiling and he knows padel very well; he knows a lot about everything. He's been playing his whole life and has been a coach for a few years now. But what I remember most is that he's always in a good mood. He never has a bad day, and that makes everything easier.”

The pair Coki Nieto/Mike Yanguas is also accompanied by Maty Marina, next to Maxi Grabiel, to supervise the pair during this new season Premier Padel.

“I have a great relationship with Mati. I've known him for 10 years, he's a great guy, we're friends. When Mike told me, I was delighted, because I know he's a serious person who works well. And Mike, sometimes you have to give him a bit of direction, so Mati can help him with that. I think they're a very good team.”

The return of the Nieto/Yanguas pair

“I think we're both in a better phase than before. Three years ago, we were playing together, but I think we've both progressed. We've matured and we can be a better pair than we were three years ago.”

The two Spanish players remain on a promising 2024 season before their association. “Being a number 4 pair is an accomplishment for me. I don't know if I ever imagined I'd be number 4. So, from now on, I have to enjoy it and try to win as many matches as possible.”

His dream and his best memory of 2024

Before winning two titles last season, the dream of Coki Nieto was from win a tournament on the circuit Premier Padel, done with the Bordeaux P2 and Barcelona Final Master.

“Now, it would be to be number one. But hey, it's a huge dream. That said, at the time, winning a tournament also seemed huge to me. So, I would say that.”

Coki Nieto don't hesitate:

“The Masters, without hesitation. Especially because we won it! I hesitated a little, but oh well. If we had lost, I wouldn't have cared. But winning, especially against Agus and Arturo, who were undefeated in 70 matches, was incredible.”

2025 target

“I never set specific goals for myself. If you ask Mike, he'll say, 'Win every tournament!' But I always say the important thing is to play well and win as many matches as possible. If you play well, you can win a lot of matches.”
