Alix  Colombon  (25th in the world) returns to competition this week in Madrid, alongside her Spanish partner  Araceli Martinez  (25th). After a month's break, the Franco-Spanish pair begins their  P1 Madrid  face  Melania Merino Saez (52th)  et  Ana Catarina Nogueira (37th) .

A first test to manage

On paper, Collombon and Martinez are the favorites. But vigilance will be required: after several weeks without a tournament, they will have to get into the game straight away and not let the lack of rhythm set in. A good start is essential, especially since the confidence built up in Madrid will serve as a springboard for the  Paris Major , starting next week at Roland-Garros.

A potential shock in the second round

In case of victory, the task looks much tougher: the second round would put the pair facing the  seeded 3 ,  Bea González  et  Claudia Fernández , one of the strongest partnerships of the season. Before thinking about this duel, Collombon and Martinez will have to win this Tuesday, in  5nd rotation of 9am on court 3 .
