The match had started badly for the number 2 seed.

Facing the experience of Virginia Riera and the solidity of Teresa Navarro, Collombon and Sharifova conceded a very hard-fought first set, lost in a tie-break.

The Franco-Russian duo then played their game to win the second and third sets by the same score of  6/3 thus securing his place in the final.
