Alex Ruiz , Alias  Captain America , currently occupies 17th place in the ranking  FIP . The Spaniard, native of  Malaga , began his professional career in 2013. Now 30 years old, this left-hander has had many partners during his 11 seasons on the circuit. In 2025, he will begin his twelfth year as a professional player. But how many partners has he had throughout his career?

 Alex Ruiz: a career rich in partners on the professional circuit 

The beginnings

In 2013,  Alex Ruiz  officially takes his first steps on the professional circuit alongside  Matías Marina  (1), his fellow Spaniard, with whom he had already been crowned under-18 world champion. He had previously won the title in the under-16 category. Together, they won two  Challengers in  Cordoba  in 2015 and at  Lisbon  in 2016. Unfortunately, the injuries of  Marina  constrain  Ruiz  to change partners and evolve with them  Seba Nerone  (2).

With  Nero , he gets a new one  Challenger  in 2016 before partnering with  Agustín Gómez Silingo  (3) in early 2018. A powerful pair, but one that will only last a few months.

In 2019, he teamed up with  Martín Sánchez Piñeiro  (4). The first year was successful, but a disappointing 2020 season in terms of results put an end to their collaboration. At the end of 2020,  Captain America  then associates with  Pablo Lijó  (5).

The association with Stupa: a turning point in his career

The year 2020 was marked by the suspension of competitions due to health problems. When they resumed in 2021, a new association was created:  Ruiz / Stupa  (6). This duo became a real turning point in the careers of both players. Their regularity allowed them to win two titles, the  Sardinia Open  and the  Mexico City Open . They end the year 2021 at the  4th place worldwide .

In 2022, they continued their collaboration and played five tournaments together. But, to everyone's surprise, the pair split up, shocking many fans.

 Ruiz  then joins  Pablo Lima  (7) before associating with  Momo González  (8). This Malaga duo reached two finals in 2022, at  Master of Marbella  and  Master of Madrid . However, in March 2023, their adventure ends when  Alex Ruiz  seizes the opportunity to play alongside  Juan Tello  (9). With  The cat , he argues  34 meetings , their best result being a final at  Cervezas Victoria Malaga Open 2023 , lost  7 / 5 7 / 6  against the current world number ones,  Tapia / Coello .

2024: An unstable year, 2025 for stability

2024 start,  Tello  receives an offer from the legend  Fernando Belasteguín , obliging  Ruiz  to find a new partner. In April, he reformed his duo with  Momo González , with whom he played in 2022.

In July 2024, he changes again and teams up with  Javi Garrido  (10) during the  Finland Premier Padel P2 Together, they played a few tournaments before separating in September, due to insufficient results.

Later in September,  Ruiz  teams up with the young Spaniard  23 years ,  Álex Arroyo  (11). Together, they participate in the  Paris Major  and win the  FIP Platinum Mexico .

How many partners has Alex Ruiz had?

After a complicated 2024 season on the sporting level,  Alex Ruiz  hopes for more stability in 2025. He will share the track with another  Alex , the former partner of  Leo Augsburg ,  Alex Chozas  (12), currently ranked 28th in the world.

 Alex Ruiz , excluding teammates in the Spanish selection or during pre-season tournaments ( Hexagon Cup, Reserve Cup ), shared the track with  12 partners  during his professional career.
