With over 30 years of experience in sports management and unique expertise in paddle, Loïc Tap is a key figure in the world of paddle in France. The founder of Sports Management et Project Padel, the former French top 35, gives us some keys to succeed in the world of padel.

What kind of club do you need to build to be successful?
“For a club to paddle works, it is first of all necessary to meet the expectations of the players while taking into account the location. If you are in the south, where the climate is favorable, a club 100% outdoor with at least three fields may be enough. But for other projects or other regions, a club 100% indoor with a minimum of five fields is preferable to guarantee year-round activity.
The most important thing is to create a living place. Your club must be more than just a place to play. There must always be something going on: tournaments, animations, theme evenings… And above all, you need a unique concept, a real identity. That's what makes a player come back and talk about your club to those around him.”

The three essentials for setting up your structure?
“First of all, you need a strong team. Running a club is a lot of responsibility, and it is crucial to have competent people to manage reception, communication, or even events. Then, you have to think about organizing targeted events : tournaments for competitors, discovery sessions for beginners, or even corporate offers. I have listed more than 8 categories of players in a document that I share during my consulting sessions. Finally, you need to have a clear vision. You need to know from the start what you want to offer your customers and how you are going to stand out.
Little bonus: take the time to visit several clubs before you start. Nothing better to understand what works… and what doesn’t. A good padel club management, with tools like a dedicated software, is also essential to save time and offer impeccable service. Find out more here. "

What should you absolutely not do?
“It is essential to recognize that we cannot control everything alone. Surround yourself with competent specialists is a guarantee of success. Each area has its specificities: the management of reservations, access systems, the cash register, the construction of the land or the building. Calling on experts for each aspect of your project will allow you to gain in efficiency and guarantee optimal operation of your club.
Likewise, favor proven solutions and developed by professionals in their field. Every detail counts to offer an impeccable experience to your members and visitors.”
