The technical commission of the International Federation of Padel (FIP) is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Board of Directors on all technical matters concerning the padel. This commission must follow the evolution of specific equipment and technologies in order to regularly check safety, quality, full application of rules and regulations and the need to make changes. With the main objectives: the protection and optimization of the nature of the game of padel at all levels.

A first certification offered by the technical commission of the FIP concerns the balls. All companies owning a brand or model of padel interested in getting their products certified and using the “Padel Ball FIP Approved”, must carry out the corresponding laboratory test. Only bullets padel approved by this Technical Commission must be used in official competitions such as championships organized by the FIP and official tournaments included in the official calendar of the FIP. The costs are as follows:

  • Cost of laboratory tests: contact accredited laboratories directly.
  • Cost of using the “FIP APPROVED” logotype (annual)
    • First model of a brand: 1500€
    • Second model of a brand: 1000€
    • Next models of a brand: 500€

In the near future, note that further certifications will be required by the FIP regarding other parameters such as rackets and court surface, glass walls and fences, protections, nets and court accessories .

After being rocked by tennis for nearly 15 years, I became an absolute fan of its cousin, the padel. For nearly a year now, I've been chasing the little yellow ball with another racquet, but with just as much passion! Based in Lyon, I intend to make you better acquainted with the padel in the region and at the national level.
