While the  women's semi-final  across  Ariana Sánchez / Paula Josemaría  et  Bea González / Claudia Fernández  lingered on the  central runway of Santiago P1 , another pair was preparing in the shadows.  Alejandro Galán  et  Federico Chingotto , waiting for their turn to face  Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto , showed how the best in the world deal with the unexpected… and patience.

Active waiting

With a women's semi-final lasting  2:41 , Galán and Chingotto had to  adapt their routine . No question of remaining inactive: they settled on a terrace of the club, between  floor mats, stretching and warm-up , while keeping an eye on the clock.

Galán's fuel: Red Bull

In a video captured by the  FIP behind the scenes , Galán revealed his little secret to staying “on top of things”:
“This is my third Red Bull today.” , he jokes. Between the heat, the tension of a semi-final and a previous meeting that went on for a long time,  He relies on caffeine to keep his energy up .
 “I am 100%” , he says with a smile.

The musical touch of “Chingalán”

Another ingredient in their preparation:  Music . And not just any old one.
It's here  bachata by Romeo Santos  which accompanies their warm-up:  “My Santa”  and  “Tuyo”  resonate as the two men stretch, exchange a few balls and relax.  A bubble of calm before the 20x10 storm.

A paying routine

Result?  A clear victory against Yanguas and Nieto (7/6 6/2)  a few hours later, and  a second consecutive final  for the “Chingalán”.
Red Bull, romantic playlist and steely mentality  : the perfect combo to aim for a new title.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
