The French Tennis Federation (FFT) offers a wide range of padel competitions suitable for all levels and age categories. These events allow licensed players to compete on the courts while respecting precise rules of registration and participation. Discover below the conditions for participating and the different types of competitions offered.

Conditions of participation

  • Compulsory license : Players must be licensed by the FFT for the current year (Multi-rackets license or Padel), on the registration deadline set by the organizer. This applies regardless of club membership or nationality (web license accepted).
  • Age category : Each player must meet the age category of the event. However, participation in higher categories is possible:
    • A player of 55 years can register for a test of 45 years and older ou senior.
    • A player of 11 years can compete in a category 18 years and under ou senior.
  • French nationality required : For the French interleague youth championships, only players with French nationality can participate.
  • Connection for interclubs : Participants in the interclub championships must be licensed in the club concerned or have a Multi-racket license in another club with a specific connection for the competition.
  • Qualifying Championships : For the departmental or regional championships in pairs, qualifying for the French championships, participation is open:
    • To the players of French nationality.
    • For pairs including at least one player licensed in the organizing committee or league.

Types of competitions

Official competitions are divided into different categories depending on the age and level of the players:

  • Youth :
    • Departmental and/or regional championships by pairs, categories U12 et U14, girls and boys (not qualifying for the French championships).
    • Departmental and/or regional championships by pairs, categories U16 et U18, girls and boys, qualifiers for the French championships.
    • French Championships U16 et U18, girls and boys.
  • Seniors :
    • Senior departmental championships, ladies and gentlemen, qualifying for regional championships.
    • Regional senior championships, ladies and gentlemen, qualifying for the French championships.
    • French senior championships, ladies and gentlemen.
  • Seniors Plus :
    • Senior departmental championships over 45 & 55 years old, ladies and gentlemen, qualifiers for the regional championships.
    • Senior Regional Championships over 45 & 55 years old, ladies and gentlemen, qualifiers for the French championships.
    • Senior French Championships over 45 & 55 years old, ladies and gentlemen.

The leagues can organize regional championships for 55 years, but there are no French championships in 2025.

Participating in official FFT padel competitions requires meeting well-defined criteria, particularly in terms of license, age and affiliation.
