Big blow for Bordeaux P2: Juan Lebrón, one of the headliners of world padel, will ultimately not be participating this week. The Andalusian player announced his lump sum this Monday, on the eve of his entry into the race, due to persistent back pain.
Sunday again, El Lobo fought fiercely in the Valladolid P2 final alongside Franco Stupaczuk, delivering a great battle against Coello and Tapia despite already having physical discomfort. True to his reputation as a warrior, Lebrón was determined to finish the match at all costs. On the bench, he even let out a "I'll die here if necessary."
But this morning, the pains are still there. After medical consultation, the decision was made to protect your back and avoid the risk of a more serious injuryJuan Lebrón published a message on his networks to formalize his withdrawal:
“I want to inform you that we will not be able to be in Bordeaux due to pain I have been experiencing in recent days. I have been advised to rest before returning to competition. It pains me greatly to have to stop now, when we were having so much fun on the track. Sorry to the French public, see you soon.”
The duo Stupaczuk / Lebrón, a finalist in Valladolid and back in form in recent weeks, was due to face a pair from the qualifiers in the first round in Bordeaux. This withdrawal therefore completely relaunches this part of the men's draw.
A blow for French fans who were hoping to see “El Lobo” in action at the Mériadeck ice rink, but the main thing remains the player's health. See you in Malaga for his return, if all goes well.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
