After their resounding triumph at Milan, With a 6/0 inflicted on Coello and Tapia in the last set, Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto have completely relaunched the battle for the world number one spot. The “Chingalan” is more confident than ever, and the objective of the world number one becomes a reality again.
A burning end to the season
Three tournaments left on the circuit Premier Padel (Newgiza P2, Dubai P1 et Mexico Major), plus the Barcelona Finals and World Cup pairs in Kuwait, nothing is decided.
Currently, Tapia and Coello count 14.100 point, against 12.020 for Galán and Chingotto. A difference of 2.080 point, far from being insurmountable, especially when you look at the points defended by each duo.

Tapia and Coello under pressure
The leaders of the classification defend 3.900 point by the end of the year (1.000 in Dubai, 2.000 in Mexico, 900 in Barcelona). And they will not be present in Newgiza, where they will therefore not score any points. Even if they won everything else, they would reach 16.700 points maximum.
An open window for Chingalán
On their side, Galan and Chingotto have than to defend 1.590 points over the same period. By winning at Newgiza, they would already be reaping 600 net points, since they did not make this tournament in 2024. In case of a perfect run until the end of the season, the Spanish-Argentine duo could climb to 15.530 pointOr 17.530 by adding the World Cup in pairs (2.000 points for the winners).
A mathematical… and psychological battle
The calculations are clear: Galán and Chingotto have cards in hand to dethrone Coello and Tapia, undefeated at the top since January 2023. But beyond the numbers, it is their state of confidence and current form that can make a difference.
Their victory in Milan proved that they now know find the keys to beat the number 1s and that the dynamics of the circuit could well turn.
Despite everything, the challenge remains immense: Galán and Chingotto will have to win almost everything by the end of the season to hope to seize the world throne. A difficult mission... especially against Tapia and Coello seek revenge, which will have the advantage of arriving more frais after having ignored Newgiza.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
