During the  Paris Major 2025 ,  Daniel Dios , Director Padel in  WME Sports (IMG) , gave his view on the future of  Juan Lebrón  and on a possible future partner: the young Argentinian  Leo Augsburg .

A profile that attracts attention

For Daniel Dios, Augsburger is a player to watch:
“He's a boy with nerve, a lot of power, and a strong personality. If you tell him something, he doesn't shrink back. He has the energy and character to stand alongside a player like Lebrón.”

Still in the learning phase, especially with his current partner  Martin Di Nenno , Augsburger has already shown that he can compete physically and mentally with the elite.

What Lebrón looks for in a partner

Dios recalls the demands of the Andalusian player:
“Juan is a born competitor. He hates losing, sometimes excessively. He is very hard on himself and sometimes on his teammates too. These are attitudes he must learn to channel.”

According to him, for Lebrón to express his full potential, he needs a partner capable of:

  • resist pressure,
  • confront him when necessary,
  • and above all maintain a constant intensity.

“A professional player must know how to give his best, but also bring out the best in his partner. That's where the success of a pair comes into play.”

The parallel with Coello / Tapia

To illustrate his point, Daniel Dios cites the example of world number 1s:
“When Tapia misses, Arturo Coello takes the blame. It's that kind of attitude that makes a team grow. Maybe that's what Lebrón is still missing.”

Augsburger, a credible choice?

Asked about a possible association, Dios does not hesitate:
“Lebrón with Augsburger would be explosive. One thing’s for sure: it wouldn’t be boring!”

He sees a combination of power, energy and personality, although he remains cautious: “Augsburger is still young. He lacks experience in key moments, but he is learning quickly. With a player like Lebrón, it could be spectacular.”

“It might not be the perfect pairing, but it would be a pairing that would make an impression. With two players of this temperament, you can expect anything… except boredom.”
