In the padel market, there's a frustration shared by thousands of players: seeing a racket costing 200, 300, or even 400 euros crack after just a few months of use. Impacts against the glass or the net, collisions between partners, or simply material fatigue... racket lifespan has become a real issue, both economically and environmentally.
It is precisely in this area that the young French brand DEM Padel has decided to position itself. Its ambition is clear: to offer rackets designed to last much longer, without sacrificing performance.
A problem well known to players
Padel is probably one of the few sports where premium equipment can become unusable in just a few months. For competitive players who play several times a week, breaking one or two rackets per season is unfortunately not unusual.
This issue now goes beyond mere player comfort. With more than 35 millions of practitioners in the world and with continued strong growth, the padel industry is also starting to question its environmental impact, between the balls thrown, the courts, the travel… but also the thousands of rackets replaced each year.
This is a subject that is increasingly attracting the interest of researchers. Several recent studies are now focusing on the design of snowshoes, the materials used, and the possibilities of reducing waste through new manufacturing technologies.
"I changed my racket every three months."
At DEM PadelIt all started with a personal observation.
Its founder, Thimoté Fernandez He says he replaced his rackets every three months when he played regularly.
"It makes no financial, environmental, or sporting sense. I wanted to create the racket I would have wanted from the start: unbreakable, premium, made in Europe, and affordable."
From this reflection emerged a brand whose positioning is not primarily based on power or effects, but on the Sustainability .

A technology designed to withstand more
The main argument put forward by DEM Padel concerns its construction.
The brand explains that it has abandoned the fiberglass used on many rackets in favor of a structure 100% carbon associated to a tubular frame. This tubular frame is designed to better absorb vibrations and shocks in order to preserve the integrity of the structure over time.
According to DEM PadelThis design would allow for a longer lifespan two to three times higher to that of a classic racket. A claim which today constitutes one of the main marketing arguments of the brand and which will naturally deserve to be tested on the courts by the players over the months.
An approach that aligns with current research
While promises of durability will need to be confirmed in the long term, the idea of working on the resistance of materials is not insignificant.
Laboratory tests have already shown that not all rackets age in the same way. Some retain their mechanical characteristics after numerous impacts, while others see their stiffness change much more rapidly.
Furthermore, several university studies estimate that future innovations in racket manufacturing should focus on materials, industrial processes, and reducing waste generated by their production.
Produce less… but produce better
This desire to extend the lifespan of products is accompanied by European manufacturing.
The designs are created in France while the production is carried out by hand in Spain, with the aim of limiting transport and better controlling the quality of manufacture.
For DEM PadelThe idea is simple: Perhaps the best racket for the environment is first and foremost the one that you don't replace every six months.
A bold gamble in a highly competitive market
While most manufacturers primarily focus their marketing on power, control, or playing feel, DEM Padel attempts to open another debate: that of the durability of the snowshoes .
In an industry where new products follow one another at a rapid pace, the young French brand is betting that some players are now ready to favour more robust equipment, capable of accompanying them for several seasons.
Now comes the most important test: the one on the field. If the promises made are borne out over time, DEM Padel could well help to change players' expectations… and push the entire market to rethink the longevity of padel rackets.
