Some sporting adventures leave an indelible mark on the history of padel. That ofAlejandra Alonso et Andrea Ustero, nicknamed “the Turks“, is undoubtedly one of them. A story of complicity, of daring bets, and above all, of resounding success.

A bold bet in May 2023

At 16 and 17 years old, Alejandra Alonso makes a strong decision: play with Andrea Ustero, then without a single point in the standings. No matter the qualifications, the external doubts or even the reluctance of those around her. She knows her, they have already shone together in the youth teams, and she is convinced that it can work. Spoiler: it worked.

From their debut on the main circuit, the results followed one after the other. Final tables in Marbella and Toulouse, first quarter-finals in Valladolid pushing even the world number 1s to their limits. Their style? Aggressive, bold, and especially, without fear.

2023: from juniors to seniors

Between titles among young people et ten final tables among the pros, the Turks sign a smashing entrance on the circuit. Five round of 16 matches, two quarters, and an impression of freshness and naturalness that seduces everyone. They become one of the most followed duos, and the results follow.

2024: confirmation

They refuse calls from the biggest ones to continue to believe in their project. Well, this gave: 9 wins against top 8 pairs, semi-finals, a final at Roland-Garros for Andrea (with Delfi Brea) and a duo final in Dubai.

Their game : explosive, complementary, always in motion, with an intensity that few pairs can sustain.

2025: The Separation

After having marked the recent history of women's padel, the paths separate. Not on failure, but because it is time for each of reach an individual milestone. Andrea joins Sofia Araújo, Alejandra leaves with Marta Ortega.

More Padel will never forget the Turks. This unique alchemy, this audacity of May 2023 who transformed two teenage girls into references on the professional circuit.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
