Paquito Navarro, current global 9 number, is finally getting ready to enjoy the long-awaited vacation after a rather positive season, despite complicated personal trials, such as the loss of his mother. Throughout the year, he has experienced ups and downs, but he took on a challenge: playing the end of the season with a lower-ranked partner, the young paul cardona, and succeed in maintaining a high level of competitiveness.
The year 2025 has been synonymous with a certain stability on the professional circuit, but also with many controversies that the players themselves have sometimes fueled. Paquito Navarro, for his part, shared three ideas to improve the circuit Premier Padel.
Back to the golden point
Paquito Navarro is backtracking on an opinion he had defended in the past. Initially in favor of the advantage, he now considers that it would be wise to reintroduce the famous gold point, established by the World Padel Tour and which had been debated when it was put in place. According to him, "to rectify is a sign of wisdom."
Varied surfaces and suitable balls
A more surprising idea: diversify the surfacesNavarro believes that playing exclusively on carpet courts is a mistake and that it would be interesting to offer courts with different surfaces, like those used in tennis (grass, cement, carpet).
Regarding balls, his opinion is more consensual. Players regularly demand better visibility on the quality and choice of balls used during competitions. A clearer standard would probably improve fairness and performance on the circuit.
Favor indoor tournaments
Finally, Navarro hopes for a strong return of the indoor tournaments. Although many events are already organized indoors, some competitions such as those of Kuwait ou Acapulco take place outdoors under a oppressive heat, which affects the quality of the game and the comfort of the players.
