As soon as the P2 of Asunción was finished, the circuit Premier Padel puts his suitcases in the Argentine capital for P1 which promises to be hot. The best players in the world are heading into another intense week, carried by an Argentinian public that is still as fervent as ever.

And this time again, the paintings are particularly high-quality, from the first rounds, and could offer us explosive duels from the quarter-finals.

Men's table: a high part of all dangers

First rounds to follow:

  • Rubio / Javi Ruiz vs Esbrí / Diestro : the latter eliminated pairs 10, 7 and 1 in Asunción. They arrive full of confidence and could well create another surprise.
  • Moyano / Curro Cabeza (new pair) will challenge Martinez / Benitez, a trap match for both pairs.
  • Campagnolo / Sager will have an interesting test against Valdés / Collado.
  • Zapata / Jimenez will be opposed to Mouriño / Pincho Fernandez : a muscular Spanish duel.

Potential major shocks:

  • En quarterfinal, we could find Sanz / Momo González against Cardona / AugsburgerA revenge after the latter's victory in Paraguay.
  • En semi final, Cardona / Augsburger could cross paths again Lebrón / Stupaczuk…which they already beat in Asunción.
  • Dance the lower part, Galan / Chingotto et Tello / Di Nenno are well on their way to finding themselves in the semi-finals once again.
  • Yanguas / Nieto, seeded 4, have an open draw until the quarter-finals, where Paquito / Bergamini could wait for them.

Women's table: it heats up from the first round

Tricky opening matches:

  • Ortega/Alonso vs. Calvo/Osoro : Watch out for the trap! Osoro showed in Asunción that she could push anyone around.
  • Riera / Eugenio vs Castelló / Rufo : Riera makes his return, but will have his work cut out for him against a dangerous Spanish pair.
  • Salazar / Virseda vs Goenaga / Caldera : two very different styles for a big duel.
  • Triay / Brea will start against Bidahorria / Perez : an easy match on paper, but the pressure is on the second seed after their defeat in the final in Asunción.
  • Fernandez / Gonzalez will face Scarsini / Schuck, before a potential quarter against Salazar / Virseda.

Dream scenario for fans of big matches:

  • Dance the upper part, if logic is respected, we will have in quarter a huge shock between Ortega/Alonso and Araujo/Ustero, the “ex” partners.
The winner could then face Sanchez / Josemaría in the semi-finals.
  • Dance the lower part, all eyes will be on a possible semi-final Triay / Brea vs González / FernándezAn expected revenge after last week's final won by the Spanish-Andalusian pair.
But before that, Bea and Claudia will have to discard Salazar / Virseda, in the quarter, a pair always dangerous.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
