In an interview conducted by the French Tennis Federation, Arnaud di Pasquale the new mission director padel to the FFT, specifies its strategy for the development of padel in France.

The strategy

“I am convinced that we must win above all by notoriety. When we say padel, there are still some who wonder if it is on the water with an oar… To gain notoriety we are going to work on two pillars:

  • An axis of communication strong with events, activations.
  • Personalized international tournaments that we stake out over a year so that there are events regularly. May our best players be able to play on French soil, and also bring in the great international players. All of this will bring in more media.

It's up to us to give this impetus. It will require a little resources from us at the start, but even with few resources we are able to do a lot of things, because we are lucky to have Roland Garros. And we will have a land of padel at Roland Garros for one or two weeks depending on what is possible. ”

Major international tournaments

“What would be wonderful would be to have a big tournament WPT, even a grand chelem padel. We will work with the FIP to set up and structure a calendar over the year.

All the ingredients are there because it is very spectacular. "

A 50-50 practice

“We have to feminize the practice a lot. I think this sport can be 50-50. It's great, it's accessible, it's fun, it's fun. It is for everyone. The proportion is 83-17. It's too little, and it's all part of our goals. ”
