Didier Deschamps, coach of the French team, won this weekend a P250 over 55s padel tournament organized at Padel Eze Club , as part of the regional circuit +55 years of the PACA League Accompanied by his partner Olivier Romary, he won the final against Christophe Cailteux and Franklin Loufrani.
Local and successful participation
This tournament was part of a regional circuit which includes 15 steps , bringing together amateur players over 55 years old. Each stage allows you to accumulate points to qualify for the Final Master , scheduled for June in Aix-en-Provence. Although Didier Deschamps does not usually take part in this type of competition, he took advantage of the tournament's proximity, just 5 minutes from his home, to try his luck and secure a first victory.

A passion that dates back to 2010
Deschamps is not a novice in padel. He started in 2010 , when he was coach of Olympique de Marseille. “I discovered this sport in Cassis, and I was immediately hooked. It is more accessible and fun than tennis, which allows you to have fun quickly,” he explained in an interview. Since then, he continues to practice regularly and appreciates the friendly spirit that surrounds this sport.
A booming circuit
The circuit +55 years of the PACA League is a great success. With an adapted format and a friendly atmosphere, it attracts many players. Samir Ladj, president of the Committee 06, and Christian Collange, tournament referee, praised the good momentum of this initiative.
With this victory, Didier Deschamps shows that he remains active on the field, this time outside of football. The Master final in June will bring together the best teams, and who knows, maybe we will see the coach on the track again.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
