Isabelle VANNIER, the founder of the organization Oss TENNIS & PADEL BARCELONA, specialized in internships padel on Barcelona returns to one of the themes that we sometimes try to address: The differences between the practice of padel in France and Spain.

In France, the padel is not yet fully developed and the more limited game tactics do not allow players to fully enjoy all the pleasures of this practice! Every week the French-speaking players who arrive on our camps are convinced that the most practiced shot from the baseline is the slice! Coming to play in Spain, he understands why this idea is false and quickly conceives that a ball flat on the player or a petite (Lifted version in the feet) can be much more relevant.

When you come from tennis you want to play open spaces and play fast… Chasing years of tennis experience is not always easy! And yet the free spaces at padel very often correspond to the points of strength of the adversary since the surface of the ground is much smaller! Trying to want to pass without having prepared your previous stroke is quite simply in the majority of cases to put yourself in danger and give your opponent the advantage!

In the same way, playing too fast, prevents having the time to build the point and generates shots made in haste giving the opportunity to the opponents to take over!

We may well know that playing hard is risky at padel, again when you come from tennis, it is difficult to change your old demons! It takes a lot of energy to agree to play much more slowly at first in order to favor the areas of play and then give yourself the possibility of varying the pace of the game ... This is called building your own point in all serenity!

Coming to Spain it is then possible to become aware of the importance of play areas and the need to know the speed of his ball! This is how technology has to be at the service of tactics. Playing in a match with the Spaniards brings another vision of the game. We learn to be much more patient to play more on the player for points that last longer and bring much more satisfaction!
