Destination North America, and more precisely Canada, a country in full development, with a focus on its French-speaking part. Today, I suggest you discover the - Padel Montreal : www.clubpadelmontreal.com.
Founded in November 2022 by two partners, Nicolas and Jordi, specialists in project launches, this duo has already proven itself in Senegal where they built courts and a padel club. However, the arrival in Quebec was not easy.
A project fraught with pitfalls
The development of the club had to deal with restrictive Canadian legislation on the use of commercial premises. Indeed, Canada does not authorize commercial exploitation in buildings with a ceiling height greater than 6,5 meters. In addition to this constraint, the requirements related to natural conditions sometimes require the presence of poles every 10 meters, which further complicates the choice of a usable space. Finally, the club counts three tracks with a limited output – and on one side only – but the essential is preserved: the possibility of playing.
Europeans will probably be surprised by the low ceiling height, something rarely seen in clubs in Europe. Another challenge for the club: the high cost of rent in Montreal, where real estate is becoming more and more expensive. Despite this, I managed to get a reasonable rate for a 1h30 evening session.

Services and amenities
The Club Padel Montreal offers racket rentals if needed, as well as equipment sales at attractive prices, including rackets from several brands, shoes and balls. You will also find on-site hydration and changing rooms. If needed, a store Decathlon is located nearby, at Panama station.
How to get there ?
The club is located at Longueuil, on the other side of the St. Lawrence, about 45 minutes by public transit from Montreal Central Station. Take the REM (Réseau express métropolitain) to Panama, then bus 54 for 5 stops. The journey, entirely outdoors, offers a splendid view of the river and the city of Montreal. If you prefer to rent a car, it will only take you 20 minutes from downtown to reach the club, and in the evening, the return will only take about ten minutes.
The gaming experience
The club's booking app, similar to Playtomic, is easy to use and works according to the players' levels. If you book a court for four players, no problem. But if you join a game with locals, be careful of the differences in levels. The application has about 2 000 users, with 200 to 250 regular players. As in Germany, the local 5.5 level may not correspond to a 5.5 on Playtomic, which is already a high level. After playing a game, I would say that there is about a one-grade gap between the levels.
In summary, the - Padel Montreal is a really friendly club, where you will find lovely people to help you discover a new destination and unique playing conditions. A must-see place for padel enthusiasts wishing to play in Canada!
