The world of padel is in mourning.  The Argentinian player  Brayan Alexis “Tato” Torres  died at the age of 27 in a traffic accident that occurred in  Tegucigalpa  visit us at the  Honduras A sudden disappearance that deeply affected the padel community in Latin America.

An accident occurred overnight in Tegucigalpa

The tragedy occurred on the night of April 27th on the ring road of the Honduran capital. According to information released by local authorities, Tato Torres was a passenger in a vehicle traveling at high speed.

The car, driven by a woman  presumed to be under the influence of alcohol reportedly lost control before crashing into the back of a truck parked on the side of the road.

Trapped inside the vehicle after the impact, the player was extricated by emergency services. Despite the firefighters' efforts, he did not survive the force of the collision and died at the scene.

According to initial findings of the investigation, the driver could be prosecuted for  homicide with possible intent .

Originally from Argentina, Tato Torres initially played football before turning to padel, a discipline in which he gradually made a name for himself.

On the circuit, he had notably won several titles in Mexico and reached the top of  number one in the rankings in Panama making a lasting impression through his commitment on the ground.

Since 2025, he had chosen to settle in Tegucigalpa in order to continue his progression and develop his career in the region.

News of his passing spread quickly, causing great emotion in the world of padel, particularly in Latin America where he had built a solid reputation.

At only 27 years old, Tato Torres embodied a trajectory still in full evolution, with the ambition to continue to grow on the circuit.
