Le  paddle , in full expansion in France, attracts more and more young players... to the point of raising a legitimate question:  Can we now take the baccalaureate with padel as a PE test?  An overview of what is possible, and what is not yet possible.

 Padel, a new activity in schools 

Le  paddle  is beginning to integrate into certain schools and high schools, particularly within the framework of  PE lessons . Teachers, in connection with the  French Tennis Federation (FFT) , develop  teaching sequences  around padel, sometimes replacing classic activities like  badminton .

A striking example is that of the  Florent Devillers gymnasium  in Maubeuge, where a school padel section has been set up. The aim is to make this sport more accessible to young people, while offering them a dynamic and fun alternative to traditional disciplines.

 From sports-study padel courses to baccalaureate 

Some private structures, such as the  HDN Academy  in Nîmes or  My Center  in Palavas, go further. They offer a  sports-study support , allowing young people to train intensively while pursuing a  complete school curriculum up to the baccalaureate .

These academies aim to train future champions while ensuring academic success, in conjunction with partner establishments. We can therefore effectively  practice padel at a high level while preparing for the baccalaureate .

 Padel in the baccalaureate: not yet an official test 

Nowadays,  Padel is not part of the APSA  (Physical, Sporting and Artistic Activities) recognized by the  Ministry of National Education  for baccalaureate PE exam .

The authorized disciplines are listed each year by the administration, and include sports such as Athletics , the  swimming , the  dance , the  team sports  or alternatively  racket sports  such as  badminton  or  table tennis . Padel, although in full development,  is not yet registered on this national list .

There may be, in certain specific cases, local initiatives or one-off educational projects integrating padel, but they remain  outside the official regulatory framework .

 A possible evolution in the future? 

With the rise of padel, both in clubs and in schools,  institutional recognition of the baccalaureate seems possible in the medium term If the discipline continues to grow, it could be included in the list of official APSA offered in high schools.

But for now,  you cannot pass the PE exam for the baccalaureate by playing padel On the other hand, students can practice it as an option, in sports studies or in innovative educational projects.
