A tense, balanced match, won through sheer willpower by the Lyon player and her Spanish partner.
A battle to the bitter end
The two teams delivered a high-level duel: that many points earned (50% each)But there was a difference in the key moments. Collombon and Montes knew how to convert 50% of their break points, against only 32% for their opponents.
At 5/5 in the first set, they made the decisive break, before losing the second set.
In the third set, they continued to apply pressure, leading 4-3 and earning three break points but failing to convert them. However, in the following return game, they finally broke serve at the perfect moment. 5/4to conclude the meeting.

In the round of 16, the French and Spanish players will meet again. Marina Guinart et Verónica Virseda (8th seed), victorious without faltering in Marta Caparrós / Águeda Pérez Ortiz (6/1 6/2).
