Hello Emma, can you introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Emma Picard, I am 23 years old and I am currently a student in Masters in Sports Organization Management at STAPS, working on a work-study basis at Big Padel. I've been working at Big for a year and a half Padel, where I started with an internship, then as a student job. Since September 2023, I have been working in the company until August 2025. Having a background in tennis with a JAT2 diploma, I decided to also launch into tennis. padel while passing my JAP.

What is your role in this unique event at Big Padel ?

I accompany Hubert on several missions. In particular, I created the tournament poster and, being integrated into the Big Padel, I am the link between the players, the referees (JAP), and the tournament organizers. On the big day, my main role will be to assist Hubert as “right-hand man” to ensure the smooth running of the event.

What do you like about this role?

I have been organizing tournaments and TMCs for some time in my small tennis club in Hourtin. Having the opportunity to do it in a bigger club and at major events is a real satisfaction for me!

How is your relationship with the men you referee during Big tournaments? Padel, knowing that egos can sometimes be strong?

The atmosphere of the tournaments padel is generally quite friendly, so men are rarely rude to me. So far I've never had a problem, and I hope it continues that way.

Are you a gamer yourself?

Yes, I started playing about a year ago and I was hooked right away! However, I don't play many tournaments yet, and I am currently ranked 1431st.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I hope to still be in the field of padel, and why not become manager of a football club padel like Big Padel !

We know that you have a very dynamic JAP. Do you have any indiscretions about an upcoming event as significant as this one?

Our JAP always has lots of ideas, which is fantastic for a club because he constantly brings something new. For the next project, it will still be a P100, but something more ambitious which will require a lot of preparation!

How did the registrations go for this event? The tournament is sold out, isn't it?

Indeed, in three weeks, all the places were reserved, and we even had 10 teams on the waiting list.

How do you explain this craze? It seemed like a crazy bet!

Our P100s are the fastest filling tournaments. But it’s true that 80 teams was quite a gamble. There are more and more licensees who want to participate in tournaments, and the fact that this is a great first for us with so many teams has certainly aroused the curiosity of the players.
