After a complicated 2024 season, Juan Lebrón seems to be reborn at the start of 2025. Alongside Franco Stupaczuk, the Spaniard shines again, carried by a clear increase in power on his Smash, long in difficulty.

A key statistic: almost 60% success rate on smashes

In 2023-2024, hampered by physical problems, Lebrón was well below his usual standards on the dunk, with less than one in two attempts successful. Upon his return to the court, his dunk efficiency rate peaked around 50% a decent figure but far from the very best. However, at the start of 2025, Lebrón has regained all his power : it now turns near the 60% success on his smashes, demonstrating remarkable progress. This statistic puts him back in the top tier of the most formidable finishers on the circuit, whereas he had been excluded during his period of doubt in 2023-2024. His topspin smash, capable of taking the ball out of the court by 3 or straight, is once again a major asset in his offensive arsenal.

To better situate Juan Lebrón against the competition, here is a comparison of the effectiveness of the smash against Wall et Gallant, who are to be emphasized left-wing players, unlike Lebrón this season :

Player% success rate on smash
Juan Lebrón60% start 2025
Augustine Wall≈ 62% in 2024 (one of his best seasons)
Alejandro Gallant≈ 61% in 2024

Four consecutive finals

Since the beginning of the year, Lebrón and Stupaczuk have reached four finals in four tournaments :

  • Final at Riyadh P1, lost against Tapia / Coello.
  • Title to the Cancun P2.
  • Final at Miami P1, lost to Galán / Chingotto.
  • Final of Santiago P1, not contested due to Stupaczuk's medical withdrawal.

An impressive dynamic which confirms that the “Lobo” is back at the highest level, sharper and more regular.

An association that works

Alongside Stupaczuk, Lebrón has found a partner who gives him stability, while letting him express his offensive game. With this level of confidence and efficiency, the ambitions are clear: aim for the top of the rankings.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
