This is a first in the history of European Padel Championships : the highest ranked player in the world ranking present in such a competition will not be Spanish, but anglaise. With the absences of the big Iberian stars, it is Sofia Araujo, current 7th in the world, which will carry this symbolic and prestigious status on the occasion of the Final 8 organized in La Línea de la Concepción.

Alongside Sofia Araujo, we will find the veteran Ana Catarina Nogueira, 39th player in the world, a true benchmark of Portuguese padel for more than a decade. Despite her age, “The Portuguese” remains a formidable competitor, capable of raising her level in major events.

The coach João Barros, assisted byHelena Medeiros, will also be able to count on a homogeneous and regular group, made up of certain players accustomed to the FIP Tour : Patricia Maria Ribeiro, Clarinha Santos, Margarida Fernandes, Constança Gorito, alexandra silva et Jessica Para.

Faces well known to the French public, since several of these players have already faced the blue on the international circuit. But for that to happen, France will have to finish first in its group B, for a explosive semi-final against in Portugal. A clash that promises to be a great duel between Araujo, undisputed leader of the Seleção, and the pair Collombon / Godallier, spearhead of the French team.
