On the players side, the padel French is in turmoil. A very nice article of our magazine analyzes the Top 20 Men and Women at the end of the year.

Let us push the analysis on the stability of this Top 20 during the year.

Stability of the French top 20

We can see that the first 20 places in the ranking experienced greater stability among women with 4 months out of 12 without change (compared to only 2 for men) with entries for example from Marie Maligot or Charlotte Villeminot of which Franck spoke in his article.

In men, less stability, changes almost every month but in fewer numbers. We will have seen the entry of the promising Thomas Leygue in August and the entries / exits from one month to the next of good players like Julien Maigret, Dimitri Huet or Pier Gauthier who seem to hesitate to stay at the top of the ranking (we remind you that the ranking is based on the 10 best results over 12 rolling months).

18 tournaments on average

Top 20 players have played an average of 18 tournaments this year. With the arrival of the P2000 from FFT Padel Tour, the average number of points earned per tournament exceeded 1000 points for both women and men.

We can therefore consider that these players are in the final square on each tournament in which they participate.

In the Top 100, we can note the fine performance of the Haut de France, Nouvelle Aquitaine, Occitanie, Pays de Loire and Réunion leagues which have more representatives in the Top 100 than these men. It is interesting to note that among men, the Top 100 is ultimately trusted by 3 main leagues: Ile de France, Occitanie and PACA.

Among men, the league that seems to be the best performing is Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur which manages to have a median rank of 2, this means that half of its almost 461 licensees are in the top 1200 with an average of 2500 tournaments played only.

Just like the ladies, for PACA, half of the licensees finish in the Top 500 this season.

A spotlight to finish: with 12 tournaments over a year, an average of 244 points per tournament for 6 months, or almost a P250 won each month, we can note the beautiful dynamic of Karine Terminet who enters the ranking in January at the 743rd place and end the year at 62rd square ! 4 players from New Aquitaine also stand out with progressions substantially identical to Karine.
