Federico Quiles announced this week that he is definitely returning to Argentina after 17 years in Spain. He therefore leaves the World Padel Tour. Could he join the APT for certain stages in Latin America?

Currently classified at the 57th place of the WPT ranking, the Argentinian will have known everything, and will have made us live everything. Unpredictable and whimsical, he regaled Europe with his talent for 17 années.

“After a long reflection, having spent a year like the last, and these 17 years in Spain, I think that it's time to go back to Argentina" expressed Fede on his Instagram page.

At 38, the Argentinian player gives a positive assessment of his career but has left some rather worrying black spots regarding the situation of high-level players:

“I need a complete change in my life on a personal level, but also on the economic plan, given that miserably, even today, it is impossible for me to dedicate myself and to live 100% of the padel in Spain."

Fede Quiles on the APT Padel Tower ?

On returning to Argentina, Federico Quiles could continue to play at the highest level, possibly participating in the stages of the APT Padel Tower. Especially since its main sponsor, Royal Padel, is also that of the APT. With the prize-money provided by the Fabrice Pastor circuitQuiles could thus remain in the competition.

The Argentinian would join a circuit in full global expansion, where he could even be among the best. He could thus regain a leading role, which he had somewhat lost in recent years on the WPT.

Bringing in veterans like Fede Quiles would bring good publicity at the APT Padel Tour which will be more universal in 2021: as to the destinations visited, but also concerning the nationalities represented among the players! To be continued ...
