This may have been the poster of the day: Fede Chingotto et Agustin Tapia found Juan lebron et Alejandro galan, to revive Argentina in this final. Indeed, after the resounding defeat of superpibes (and express), the Argentines were led 1/0.
Of course, everyone had an eye on this match. Up to 80.000 spectators followed this match on the FIP YouTube channel, to see Argentina's victory!
A hold-up by Chingotto / Tapia
The first set struggled to find a taker and almost tipped over to the side of the former world number 1s. Indeed, the Lebron / Galan duo offered themselves two set balls tie-breakerHowever, two regrettable mistakes came to spoil the party and Chingotto and Tapia were already back to 6/6.
That was all the Argentines needed to put the gas back on and take the first round, under the noses of Ale Galan and Juan Lebron.
The awakening of the red and yellow
The second round saw a “domination”, that of the Spanish. Indeed, Lebron and Galan succeeded the first break of the match, much to the dismay of their opponents. The Spaniards led the race throughout this second set, without ever giving in to the assaults of Chingotto / Tapia.
It's the turn of the former number 1s to take the set: 6/3.
The Argentines are making the break!
The final act got off to a bad start for the Spaniards who, for the first time, let one of their engagements slip away. After leading the entire second set, they found themselves chasing the score… and it goes without saying that Fede Chingotto and Agustin Tapia were not going to let their opponents get back on level terms...
The match was decided in the seventh game of the third inning, where Galan / Lebron had multiple break points. Chingotto and Tapia, close to giving in, managed to stay the course and return to their bench, leading 5/2 on the scoreboard.
The loss of this game was a blow to the former world number 1s who gave up the next game... and therefore the match!
The last match will therefore be decisive between Spain and Argentina, with a dream poster to conclude this day!
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
