The king has fallen. As soon as he entered the lists, accompanied by Valentino Libaak, Fernando Belasteguin fell in Mexico, thus signing his last match in Major. A painful defeat, once again in three sets (7/6(5) 0/6 6/4), which should definitely deprive King Bela of Master Final.

Whose fault is it? The qualified ones Gerard Arnaldos Serrano (124) et Eduardo Agustin Torre (135). Far from being favourites for this match, the Spanish-Argentine pair knew how to seize their chance against a stronger team (on paper), which has been experiencing a lot of difficulties for several months!

This is a real earthquake, although the year is far from idyllic for the former world number 1. Only one semi-final, in Bordeaux, last June… and a large number of defeats in the first round. Many would say that it was probably “one year too many" for the one who dominated world padel for sixteen years...

As at the last Major in Paris, Tino Libaak and Fernando Belasteguin leave the tournament without having passed a single round. Now, Bela is already focusing on his next (and last) deadline: the Milano P1. This tournament will close the career of King Bela.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
