At 45, Fernando Belasteguín, originally from Pehuajó in Argentina, is living his last months on the professional circuit. The prosperous years when he dominated the world rankings for 13 consecutive years, with an unbeaten record of one year and nine months still unmatched, seem far away.

For the first time in the era Premier Padel et World Padel Tour, King Bela falls out of the world top 10 (apart from injury cases). In the new world ranking, he lost two places, going from 9th to 11th position.

In his recent statements, Bela affirmed that he will fight until the end to finish his career in style, with the hope of being part of the eight best pairs in the world and participating in the Master Final – Premier Padel Finals, which will take place from December 19 to 22, 2024 in Barcelona.

However, the latest results do not work in its favor. The next step in Madrid will be crucial. The Tello/Belasteguín pair will be under pressure and will have to at least reach the quarter-finals of this P1. The pair has the capabilities, but it will be necessary to offer a level much higher than that shown during the last tournaments.
