The latest report from the French Tennis Federation provides us with relevant data on the evolution of Padel French. Although it is difficult to make a perfectly coherent analysis in this time of health crisis, we note that the padel is increasingly practiced.

With good eyes, we can see that in the data provided by the FFT for the period 2019/2020, in France, there were 80 estimated practitioners.

Easier to find a track of padel

FFT statistics show the number of pitches belonging to clubs affiliated to the federation. In total, these are 810 courts of padel. In the clubs where the main practice is tennis, there are 478 courts Padel  (51% of the total) while the clubs where the padel is the main activity have 332 courts (41% of the total).

Among the 810 Padel present on French territory, 342 are indoor courts and 468 outdoor fields, validated by the federation and able to host tournaments of different categories. An affiliated club has an average of 2,2 P pitchesAdel.

Occitanie, the region with the most competitor!

During the 2020 season, the South of France region was the one with the highest number of players from padel classified with 2125 competitors. The podium is completed by Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with respectively 1609 competitors and 1394 competitors.

Faced with the difficulties caused by the health crisis, thehe regions succeeded in increasing their number of competitors during the year 2021. The total increase in the number of competitors padel in France was 6,2%, going from 10 to 267 across France.

Taking into account these data and the number of licensees in France, it is impossible to compare the level of padel between countries, but the development that France has experienced in recent years indicates that the padel is a sport that boom in France!
