After the Beausoleil tournament approved by the FFT, it's Real Padel Club which proposed last weekend, its first approved tournament. It was made up of 2 categories: The expert category made up of the best French teams and the confirmed category which was not left out either with the Spaniards who showed that outside their border, they were able to show beautiful things. .
Reca and Pastor: The big winners
This tournament had a special flavor since it proposed in the main draw, the Argentine Gaby Reca (7 World number) associated with Monegasque Fabrice Pastor (Former top 100 world and owner of the future master padel in Monte Carlo next September )
Coming to Real Padel, the Argentinian-Monegasque pair had clearly decided to shake the hegemony of the famous French pair composed of Robin Haziza and Jeremy Scatena.
But the first pair to worry was the unfortunate semi-finalists of the Padel France Master, Kevin and Patrick Fouquet who remember, had missed a match point against the future winners of the tournament Jeremy Ritz and Morgan Mannarino.
While we were only in the pool phase, Pastor and Reca were facing the Fouquet family, one of the best French pairs. The match was disgusting. In the super tie-break, the French pair had up to 5 match balls to close ... In vain. Pastor / Reca had the merit of hanging on to the end and avoiding this defeat that could have undermined their morale for the rest of the tournament. This victory had the opposite effect by boosting them and propelling them to the finals.
It is certain that for the pair cannoise, it is a defeat hard to cash after already this match ball missed 2 weeks ago. It's a safe bet that we will see them again soon to revive because they have everything to go to the end.
In the other pool, Scatena / Haziza didn't go around that much. They notably had a close match to play against Jérémy Ritz and Jérémy Campos (who came from the Club de Sannois near Paris).
But without surprise finally, we saw in the final multiple champions of France against the Argentinian-Monegasque pair. From the first set, Jeremy Scatena had decided to show who was the boss by scooping smashes of which he alone to secrecy. Robin Haziza, always present in the hot moments with his little game, did a lot of harm in the opposite camp. The French logically won the first set (6 / 4).
Just as logically, Reca / Pastor showed that they had more than one trick up their sleeve. It was first Fabrice Pastor who in turn sent a few smashes to calm the ardor of the local pair. But the French pair did not break despite the loss of the second set (6/4). It was then that the grand master decided to speed things up by intervening in the game more and more frequently.
The super tie-break as the no-ad is not the taste of number 7 worldwide who made it known to our microphones. But we had to do the job, and the visiting pair did it by finally winning 10 points at 6.
Lyon makes the powder speak
The Lyon pair composed of Morillon / Bergeron made the powder speak by winning category 2 after a marathon match against the Cohen brothers in the quarter-finals (4/6 7/6 10/8). Then: It looked like she was walking on water.
Faced with Lerrant / Penet, Lyon have not let the pair breathe Nice to inflict a severe defeat (6 / 0 6 / 0). Against Pequery, a promising new padel player and the famous Michel Labory with his style as inimitable as effective, we could expect a very close final. But Morillon / Bergeron did not hear it that way by carrying it quickly and without burr in 2 small sets (6 / 1 6 / 2).
Real Padel should propose its 2e tournament of the year certainly mid-July. Appointment on our agenda page to learn more about the next big tournaments.
