The semi-finals  were fatal to the French in Aveiro.  Benjamin Tison / Adrien Maigret  in men, and  Camille Sireix / Melissa Martin  in the women's race, fell this Sunday at the gates of the final, after a very good run.

Tison / Maigret fall one step away from the final

They believed in it until the end, but  Benjamin Tison and Adrien Maigret  saw their beautiful tournament come to an end  in the semi-finals , after one  defeat in three sets  face  Florensa Hernandez / Sanchez Arriaga  :  6/7 6/0 6/4 A match full of twists and turns, where the French took the first set in the tie-break before collapsing in the second, then fighting until the end in a tight third set.

A hard blow, especially since the French duo was coming out of a very convincing journey , marked by a victory against the  seeded 1  (Solano / Nunes) in the last 2, then a solid comeback in the quarter-finals against Fazendeiro / Perry (6/7 5/6 2/XNUMX). Despite the elimination,  the level displayed is very encouraging  as the French team's training camp approaches, where  Tison and Maigret will be present .

Sireix / Martin also stop in the semi-final

Same fate for  Camille Sireix and Melissa Martin , beaten  in the semi-finals  by  Fernandes / Dubins  (TS5) on the score of  6 / 3 6 / 3 The French women were unable to find the key against a strong pair.

A setback, but it's hard to forget their superb quarter-final, where they had  took out the 1st seed  (Serrano / Garcia Roman) at the end of a big fight:  7/5 1/6 6/4 . Before that, they had only given up 4 games to their opponents in their first two rounds.

If the final escapes them,  the tournament remains very positive , with a high level of play and  solid benchmarks for the rest of the season .

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
