The adventure ends in  quarterfinal  for the last two pairs with a Frenchman entered in the  FIP Bronze Wood .
Johan Bergeron / Timéo Fonteny  et  Dylan Guichard / Clement Geens  They both stumbled against top seeds in the tournament, in a particularly tough draw.

No semi-final for France then, but all the same  positive points to remember  of this Dutch week.

 Bergeron/Fonteny face a tougher opponent

After their impressive victory in the round of 16 against  Melendez brothers ,  Johan Bergeron  et  Timeo Fonteny  hoped to continue their positive momentum.

But in the quarter-finals, the bar was clearly higher.

The French were defeated by the  seeded 2 ,  Javier Martinez  et  Ramiro Valenzuela , on the score of  6 / 0 7 / 5 .

A complicated match overall, with a  The first set was very tough  where the French pair never really managed to get into the game. On the other hand, the  second set  was much more interesting, with a stronger reaction and significantly better content.

They tried to hang on, but the 3rd seed managed to stay solid and close it out in two sets.

After the meeting,  Johan Bergeron  summarized the section quite simply:
 "It's a match to forget."

 A very good tournament nonetheless.

Even though this defeat inevitably leaves a bitter taste, the overall result remains...  in a more positive way  for  Bergeron / Fonteny .

Their tournament remains marked by a  A very fine victory against the Meléndez brothers , which clearly remains one of the major highlights of their week.

They also leave with some  FIP points  interesting, in a tournament where the level was particularly high.

We'll see them again next week at  Newgiza P2 qualifications , this time with the objective of going to find a  big hit on Premier Padel .

Guichard / Geens come very close to a huge upset

The same scenario, or almost, for  Dylan Guichard  and the Belgian  Clement Geens .

Opposed to the  seeded 3 , the pair  Franco-Belgian  lost after a much closer match against  Piotto / Ortega  :  6/7 7/6 6/4.

A frustrating defeat, they came very close to pulling off a major upset, because the match was decided by very little, but also logical given the solidity of their opponents, who were able to hold their own in the important moments.

Piotto / Ortega  therefore qualify for the  semi-finals , While  Guichard / Geens  leave the tournament.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
